The esoterism of Chess... Bishops.
In chess there is nothing at random, everything has to do with spiritual concepts and Bishop's figure is not an exception. The piece that represents the X move must be spiritual. Its move represents the letter Alef [א], Hebrew alphabet first letter, with a diagonal bar and two other segments, one on each side. The letters in Hebrew have numerical value and Alef [א] has value 1, but it actually has value 26 because it is formed by 3 letters, with 2 yuds [value 10] and a Vav [value 6 ] in the middle [יוי], adding 26. The value 26 is the same value of God's name [יהוה] Yud 10 Hei 5 Vav 6 Hei 5, aka tetragramaton, which gives a spiritual meaning to X move. That's why they used the cross to represent the christic figure.
